Officers from the NEMA Lagos Territorial Office (LTO) responded promptly to a multiple-vehicle crash at 2 a.m. on May 23, 2024, at the World Oil bus stop opposite Kara Cattle Market on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Eyewitnesses attributed the accident to overspeeding, involving five vehicles: a luxury bus and a containerized lorry among them. While no fatalities were reported, four individuals sustained serious injuries and several others had minor injuries. All injured parties have been transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The affected vehicles, all severely damaged, were towed to the FRSC office at the Sagamu Interchange to alleviate the traffic congestion impacting major roads in Lagos. The response included coordination from NEMA, LASEMA, LASTMA, FRSC, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), and the Nigeria Police.
