In response to the rising incidents of knockdowns, assaults, and attacks on Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) patrol operatives, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed has mandated a comprehensive investigation and swift prosecution of a driver involved in a recent incident. On May 29, 2024, an arresting Marshal was knocked down by a truck along Kaduna-Doka Road.
According to FISPON Corps Commander Ag. Corps Public Education Officer FRSC Headquarters Abuja Olusegun Ogungbemide, the truck, a Dangote vehicle with registration number TAK 818 SB, was transporting salt from Dangote’s factory in Kano to Lagos state when it struck the Marshal and the driver fled the scene. The driver was eventually apprehended through the combined efforts of the military, police, and an FRSC patrol team.
Highlighting the severe consequences of such incidents, the Corps Marshal emphasized the Corps’ commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the judiciary to ensure the prompt prosecution of violators. He stressed that recent attacks have resulted in the loss of several FRSC personnel, and reaffirmed his dedication to securing justice for the victims.
