After President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated his cabinet of Ministers on August 21, 2023, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, officially assumed his responsibilities. During this transition, he emphasized his commitment to upholding transparency.
Addressing an audience gathered at the Ministry’s reception, Festus Keyamo remarked, “I have thoroughly reviewed the roadmap crafted in 2016. Our intention is not to dismantle well-executed endeavors, but rather to scrutinize areas that require improvement. While we may introduce additions to the existing roadmap, our aim is to build upon the strong foundation that was created through a thoughtful roundtable process.”
Keyamo also asserted that his appointment by President Bola Tinubu was a deliberate choice and not a random decision. He conveyed his plan to engage with various departments and agencies in the coming days, aiming to formulate proposals that will further advance the sector’s development.
Offering sentiments on behalf of the Ministry’s Directors and staff, Permanent Secretary Dr. Emmanuel Meribole expressed enthusiasm and readiness to collaborate with the Minister. He conveyed, “We recognize your commitment to advancing President’s initiatives in the aviation sector. Rest assured, we are dedicated to fulfilling our responsibilities and ensuring the successful achievement of our mandate.”
Dr. Meribole assured the Minister of the staff’s unwavering support, pledging to provide all necessary assistance to ensure his success in carrying out his mandate.
