The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed operatives across all local government areas in Edo State to prevent voters’ inducement during the governorship election on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, emphasized the Commission’s dedication to safeguarding electoral integrity by ensuring voters are not influenced by financial incentives. “We are committed to ensuring voters cast their votes freely and democratically without financial inducement. Vote buying is a financial crime, and the EFCC will not tolerate it anywhere,” Olukoyede stated.

The EFCC has consistently played a crucial role in monitoring elections nationwide, in line with its mandate to combat economic and financial crimes. Its presence in the Edo election reinforces the Commission’s commitment to fostering a fair electoral process.
