Customs CG offers condolences to families of officers, Kebbi area command

The Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of Inspector of Customs Alhaji Kabiru Shehu and Customs Assistant Abdullahi Muhammad, both serving under the NCS Kebbi Area Command. The Acting CGC also conveys his condolences to the Government of Kebbi state. The loss of these dedicated and brave individuals, who were actively serving their country, is deeply tragic.

In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, it was revealed that the unfortunate incident occurred on August 24, 2023. The two officers met their untimely demise while engaged in a stop-and-search operation along the Bunza – Dakingari – Koko Road.

The Acting CGC underscores the dangerous challenges that NCS officers confront on a daily basis as they work diligently to safeguard the nation’s borders. He reassures that under his leadership, the NCS stands in unwavering solidarity with the bereaved families during this time of profound sorrow.

“In this moment of grief, we acknowledge the void created by their departure, both on a personal level and within our Customs community. May the memory of their courage, sacrifice, and dedication bring comfort to their loved ones and inspire us all to uphold the values they represented,” he stated.
