The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK) delivered a decisive blow to terrorist elements in Jubillaram, a stronghold in the Tumbuns area of the Lake Chad Basin, on November 23, 2024.
Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Olusola F. Akinboyewa said the operation, following comprehensive intelligence efforts, targeted a critical food storage depot and hideout for terrorist commanders and fighters linked to recent attacks, including the November 16 assault on troops in Kareto.
Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets executed precise airstrikes, destroying storage facilities concealed under dense vegetation and neutralizing terrorists at the location. Fleeing hostiles were eliminated during mop-up operations using cannon fire.
The mission, supported by days of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations, has significantly disrupted the logistical capabilities of the terrorist network. The destruction of food storage sites and the neutralization of fighters have weakened their operational capacity, hindering future attacks.
Akinboyewa emphasized the force’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria. “This mission underscores the NAF’s dedication to defending our nation and supporting counterterrorism efforts alongside surface forces,” he stated.
The NAF pledged to sustain its robust independent and joint operations to dismantle terrorist networks and secure Nigeria’s peace and prosperity.
