Okpebholo dissolves Edo local government service commission

In a bid to enhance transparency and efficiency in public service, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the immediate dissolution of the Local Government Service Commission.

In a statement, Chief Press Secretary to Edo State Governor Fred Itua said this decision aligns with the governor’s ongoing reforms to streamline government operations and improve the performance of public sector institutions across the state. Governor Okpebholo assured citizens and staff of the commission that official activities would continue uninterrupted during the transition.

Speaking on the development, the governor stated, “This move became necessary to revitalize our Local Government Service Commission and reposition it for more efficient service delivery. It reflects our commitment to eliminating inefficiency and fostering a more accountable local service structure.”

Governor Okpebholo reiterated his administration’s dedication to delivering transparent and effective public services, emphasizing the goal of bringing the dividends of democracy closer to the people of Edo State.
