The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has met with key stakeholders in the oil and gas sector to tackle challenges affecting Nigeria’s oil production.
According to Director, Defence Information Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, General Musa emphasized the sector’s vital role in national socio-economic development, highlighting recent progress in boosting output to over 1.8 million barrels per day.
He reiterated the commitment to achieving President Bola Tinubu’s directive of exceeding 2.2 million barrels per day and urged stakeholders to adopt inclusive and practical strategies.
The Defence Headquarters convened the meeting to enhance collaboration and address security concerns affecting production. Attendees included senior military officials, representatives from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), and oil-producing states.
