The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered an immediate investigation into reports of criminal activities at Okere Correctional Centre in Warri, Delta State.
In a statement on Tuesday, his spokesman, Babatunde Alao, conveyed the Minister’s strong condemnation of the alleged misconduct, emphasizing that any indiscipline within the facility would be met with severe consequences.
“I will not allow indiscipline to fester under my nose. Any officer found guilty will face the full weight of the law. The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) leadership must provide explanations,” Tunji-Ojo stated.
Reaffirming his commitment to transparency and accountability in the correctional system, the Minister urged the public to provide any information that could assist in the investigation.
