The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant breakthroughs in its ongoing efforts to combat organized crime, leading to the arrest of suspects, recovery of illegal firearms, and the rescue of kidnapping victims.
In a statement Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in Taraba State, police operatives, acting on credible intelligence, raided a criminal hideout in Wamunchi dry season rice farms on February 26. The operation resulted in the arrest of 20 male suspects and the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, seven rounds of live ammunition, three Dane guns, a bow and arrow, and a motorcycle. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Similarly, in Oyo State, swift action by police tactical teams and local security outfits led to the rescue of three kidnap victims abducted from the palace of Baale Tajudeen Inaolaji in Agede Village, Moniya, Ibadan. One of the suspected kidnappers has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police has ordered the immediate deployment of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to prioritize the rescue of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the Afenifere Youth Leader, who was abducted on February 17 while traveling to Abuja. The police urge the public to avoid speculation or sharing unverified information on social media, as this could compromise ongoing operations.
