More Nigerian women are set to benefit from strengthened China-Nigeria cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, said on Friday.
Speaking at the 2025 International Women’s Day celebration in Abuja, themed “Her Story and Future,” Yu highlighted China’s commitment to empowering women through improved medical resources, agricultural training, and business opportunities.
He emphasized that gender should never be a barrier to progress, stating, “When women have equal access to education and resources, they shape history.”
Yu noted that the deepening China-Nigeria partnership, elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership after President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to China, will further support women’s development. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to implementing the Ten Partnership Action Plans, including women’s exchange programs.
