Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), supported by close air support from the Air Component, have eliminated Boko Haram/ISWAP kingpin Malam Jidda and dozens of other terrorists in Ngazalgana, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Confirming the report, Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI Captain Reuben Kovangiya said the operation, carried out on June 9, 2025, also targeted terrorist strongholds in the Timbuktu Triangle.
Malam Jidda, identified as the Ameer of Ngorgore and Malumti villages, was killed during a coordinated ground and air assault. Troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing others to flee with gunshot wounds. Simultaneously, another OPHK unit conducted a successful ambush in the Timbuktu Triangle, neutralizing several terrorists in the encounter.

In related operations in the Mallamfatori area of Abadam Local Government Area, troops discovered the bodies of additional neutralized terrorists, along with a cache of weapons and equipment. Items recovered include AK-47 rifles, motorcycles, large quantities of ammunition, rocket-propelled gun tubes, hand grenades, hand-held radios, and other assorted equipment.
These operations highlight the continued effectiveness of OPHK’s counter-insurgency efforts and the critical role of air support in defeating Boko Haram/ISWAP elements. The Nigerian Army remains committed to restoring peace and security in the North-East.
