Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), have arrested a suspected high-profile arms trafficker in Taraba State during a joint security operation.
In a statement, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations 6 Brigade Nigerian Army U. Muhammad said the operation, conducted around Ambassador Roundabout in Wukari Local Government Area, led to the apprehension of 29-year-old Bulyami Shuaib, a native of Belango Village in Karim Lamido LGA. Authorities believe Shuaib is a key figure in a regional gun-running network.
Security personnel recovered a significant cache of items from the suspect, including:

Two silver rings and a First Bank ATM card

The suspect is currently in custody and is reportedly cooperating with investigators, providing intelligence expected to support further operations.
Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and operational success. He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to working closely with other security agencies to eliminate criminal elements and restore lasting peace across Taraba State.
He also called on residents to support ongoing efforts by sharing timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime and maintaining public safety.
