The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commissioned a set of community development projects in Anipupo, Odeda Local Government Area of Ogun State, aimed at improving access to clean water and electricity.
The projects, inaugurated on August 26, 2025, include 30 solar-powered streetlights, an industrial borehole, and a 35,000-litre water storage facility. The initiative, executed under NAF’s Special Intervention/Quick Impact Projects, was dedicated in honour of Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Timothy Marquis.
Speaking at the event on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, AVM Ibikunle Daramola, said the intervention reflects NAF’s commitment to non-kinetic operations that strengthen civil-military relations. “By providing clean water and lighting up the community, we are not only improving livelihoods but also reinforcing the bond of trust between the Nigerian Air Force and the people we serve,” he stated.

In his remarks, AVM Marquis urged residents to safeguard the facilities as “a seed that must grow into lasting development.”
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya, commended NAF for the gesture, describing it as “a shining example of partnership that transforms lives.” He added that the project aligns with the state’s grassroots development agenda and urged the community to make responsible use of the facilities while supporting security agencies in safeguarding peace.
The NAF has in recent years expanded such quick impact projects to several communities across the country as part of its efforts to foster trust and cooperation with civilians while contributing to national development beyond its defence role.
