Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), with close air support from the Air Component and assistance from local security outfits, have intensified offensives against Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists across the North-East, recording significant gains between 23 and 30 August 2025.
Operations carried out in Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum (Chibok LGA), Mandarari (Konduga LGA), Gajigana (Magumeri LGA), Konduga, Banki, and Loskori Kura (Mafa LGA) led to the neutralization of over 20 terrorists. Several logistics suppliers and collaborators were also arrested.
During the week-long offensives, troops recovered multiple AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes and bombs, large quantities of 7.62mm ammunition, and various logistics items. They further intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertilizer intended for use in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and safely detonated planted explosives.
The sustained operations have disrupted terrorist movements, denying them freedom of action and fostering a safer environment for socio-economic activities in the region.
The Defence Headquarters commended the troops for their resilience and assured them of continued support to sustain the counter-insurgency momentum.
