The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, on Thursday coordinated the reception of 115 Nigerian nationals voluntarily repatriated from Agadez, Niger Republic.
The returnees, assisted under the Voluntary Return initiative of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria, arrived at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport at about 11:59 a.m. on September 25, 2025.
Officials from NEMA, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Kano State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), and other key partners were on ground to facilitate a smooth reception process. The exercise was conducted in an orderly and dignified manner, ensuring the welfare of all returnees.
On arrival, the returnees were provided temporary accommodation at Badala Hotel, where profiling and documentation continued on Friday, September 26, 2025.
According to the demographic breakdown, the group comprised 47 adult males, 25 adult females, 29 male children, and 14 female children.
NEMA officials confirmed that the exercise was successful and recorded no incidents.
