The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA) has provided medical and humanitarian assistance to over 500 beneficiaries during a Medical and Humanitarian Outreach held on January 24, 2026, at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Bill Clinton Drive, Abuja.
The outreach, organised in support of the Nigerian Air Force’s people-centred welfare strategy, formed part of activities marking the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day. Priority was given to widows of fallen heroes and wives of serving Nigerian Air Force personnel.
Beneficiaries received free medical consultations, health screenings, and other essential healthcare services, in addition to food and non-food items aimed at improving their overall wellbeing.
Speaking at the event, the NAFOWA National President, Mrs Ngozi Aneke, said the outreach was a deliberate humanitarian initiative designed to honour the sacrifices of Nigerian Air Force personnel by safeguarding the health and welfare of their families. She noted that the association remains aligned with the Service’s welfare philosophy through targeted healthcare, social support, and empowerment programmes that promote family stability, morale, and resilience within the Air Force community.
Mrs Aneke emphasised that sustained attention to health and social welfare is vital to force morale and operational effectiveness, adding that the outreach was intended not only to deliver tangible support but also to provide reassurance, solidarity, and a sense of institutional care.
The initiative aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s welfare-first leadership priority, which recognises personnel wellbeing as a strategic enabler of operational readiness and mission success.
The NAFOWA President expressed appreciation to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal S.K. Aneke; the Commander, 053 NAF Camp; Nigerian Air Force medical personnel; volunteers; partners; and other stakeholders for their support, while reaffirming NAFOWA’s commitment to serving as a dependable humanitarian partner in advancing the Nigerian Air Force’s people-centric welfare objectives.
