The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has received senior officials of the United States Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) on a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, as both sides reviewed their strategic partnership in policing and internal security development.
The visiting delegation was led by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of INL, Ms Maggie Nardi, and included Mr Jacob Wright, Senior Adviser, INL, and Mr Grane Douglas, Acting Director of INL Abuja.
Discussions during the meeting focused on ongoing areas of cooperation between the INL and the Nigeria Police Force, as well as opportunities to deepen institutional engagement aimed at strengthening policing capacity and enhancing internal security operations.

Ms Nardi reaffirmed the commitment of the INL to continued support for the Nigeria Police Force, particularly through expanded specialised training programmes and the provision of modern operational equipment. She underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in building institutional capacity and improving operational effectiveness.
In his remarks, IGP Egbetokun expressed appreciation for the enduring partnership and support of the INL, especially in the area of tactical capacity development. He highlighted the positive impact of INL-supported training initiatives on the operational performance of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), noting the professionalism and discipline exhibited by its personnel in recent operations.

The Inspector-General further reiterated the resolve of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen cooperation with the INL and other international partners, while adopting global best practices to enhance service delivery and ensure improved safety and security across the country.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both parties to advancing effective policing and promoting internal security in Nigeria.
