Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI have sustained offensive operations aimed at crippling terrorist supply and financing networks across the North-East theatre, recovering ₦37 million suspected to be linked to terrorist funding.
The operations follow recent defensive engagements in Pulka and Madara-Girau, as troops transitioned into what military authorities described as deliberate “logistics strangulation” missions designed to dismantle insurgents’ supply chains and restrict their freedom of movement.
On February 16, 2026, troops of Sector 1, in collaboration with Vigilante Forces, conducted a coordinated night ambush along a known crossing route frequently used by elements of the Islamic State West Africa Province transiting from the Cameroon axis into Nigeria.
According to military sources, the insurgents ran into effective enfilade fire from concealed troop positions and were forced to retreat in disarray. Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of a cache of logistics supplies believed to have been intended for terrorist resupply operations. Troops have since maintained control of the area and continued follow-up clearance operations.
In a related development, personnel at the Forward Operating Base Chabbal Checkpoint intercepted a vehicle conveying five occupants. A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately ₦37 million concealed in bags, along with several mobile phones suspected to be connected to terrorist financing and coordination activities.
Military authorities described the interception as a major breakthrough in efforts to dismantle financial channels sustaining insurgent operations in the region.
The High Command commended the troops and collaborating security agencies for their professionalism and resilience, noting that the sustained pressure on both movement corridors and financial networks reflects a strategic effort to weaken terrorist elements and prevent their regrouping.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to neutralising terrorist threats and restoring lasting peace and economic stability across the North-East.
