The AIDS Prevention Initiative in Nigeria (APIN) has donated 20 laptops and 304 tablets to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to strengthen the agency’s regulatory and operational capacity.
The presentation was made during a courtesy visit to NAFDAC’s Director-General, Mojisola Adeyeye, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Leader of the APIN delegation, Pharm. Uche Okezie, commended the Director-General for her leadership in repositioning the agency and reinforcing its regulatory systems. He reaffirmed APIN’s commitment to sustained collaboration with NAFDAC in advancing its public health mandate.
Okezie also congratulated the agency on attaining the World Health Organization Maturity Level 3 (ML3) status, describing the milestone as a reflection of consistent institutional reforms and strategic dedication to regulatory excellence.
In her response, Prof. Adeyeye expressed appreciation for the donation, noting that the devices would significantly enhance NAFDAC’s monitoring and post-market surveillance activities. She reiterated the agency’s resolve to safeguard public health by ensuring the safety, quality and efficacy of regulated products nationwide.
