More than 300 participants drawn from 30 American Spaces across Nigeria took part in a webinar titled “Freedom 250: Economic Excellence in Agribusiness,” aimed at strengthening agricultural enterprise and investment linkages between Nigeria and the United States.
The programme, organised by the U.S. Mission Nigeria in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service and the Office of U.S. Speaker Programs, focused on advancing agribusiness development and private-sector expansion in emerging agro-industrial zones.
The webinar featured insights from U.S. agribusiness expert Jessica Rudolph, who presented strategies for building resilient agricultural ecosystems, attracting investment, and expanding commercial opportunities within Nigeria’s agrifood sector.

Organisers said the initiative brought together entrepreneurs, exchange programme alumni, investors, innovation accelerators, and policymakers, with the aim of fostering knowledge exchange and strengthening agricultural value chains.
They noted that the engagement highlighted U.S. expertise in agribusiness development while promoting deeper commercial cooperation between both countries, particularly in areas of agricultural innovation, investment facilitation, and market expansion.
According to the organisers, the programme also underscored efforts to connect stakeholders across both nations’ agricultural sectors, with a focus on enhancing productivity and supporting private-sector participation in agribusiness growth.
