Rev. Buru named NCYP patron, calls for godly leadership

Reverend (Dr.) Yohanna Buru, General Overseer of the Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, has declared that the Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) “now belongs to God” following his appointment as Patron of the faith-based organisation.

Speaking after receiving his Certificate of Appointment and official insignia from the NCYP National Chairman, Isaac Abrak, alongside the Kaduna State Coordinator, Hon. Daniel John, Rev. Buru urged the organisation’s leadership to remain faithful to God and allow divine direction to guide all its activities.

“NCYP now belongs to God. The leadership are merely instruments in His hands and must allow God to lead the group at all times,” he said.

The cleric offered prayers dedicating the association and its leadership to God, stressing that obedience to God’s word and adherence to biblical principles should remain the foundation of every decision taken by the organisation.

He also cautioned members against engaging in any form of misconduct, warning that actions inconsistent with Christian values could undermine the group’s mission and integrity.

Presenting the appointment certificate, NCYP National Chairman Isaac Abrak said the honour was in recognition of Rev. Buru’s longstanding contributions to promoting peaceful coexistence, interfaith dialogue and Christian-Muslim harmony in Kaduna State and across Northern Nigeria.

Abrak described the cleric as a respected peace advocate whose commitment to fostering religious tolerance and mutual understanding aligns with the association’s vision of promoting unity, youth development and national progress.

He noted that as Northern Nigeria continues to face insecurity and other socio-economic challenges, stronger collaboration between Christians and Muslims remains critical to restoring peace, tackling violence and accelerating sustainable development across the region.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the NCYP National Women Leader, Madam Joan Ahmadu, and other members of the association.

The organisation expressed confidence that Rev. Buru’s spiritual leadership, mentorship and counsel would further strengthen its commitment to serving God, advancing religious harmony and contributing to lasting peace and development in Northern Nigeria and the country at large.

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals is a faith-based youth organisation committed to promoting peaceful coexistence, youth empowerment and constructive engagement on issues affecting Northern Nigeria through dialogue and collaboration across religious and ethnic divides.
