Troops of Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network in Borno State, arresting six suspects and recovering a large cache of materials believed to be destined for terrorist groups operating in the North-East.
The operation, carried out on July 19, 2026, followed credible intelligence and targeted a suspected terrorist supply route. Acting on the intelligence, troops mounted a covert stop-and-search operation, leading to the interception of five vehicles allegedly transporting logistics for terrorist elements.
Military authorities said the operation resulted in the recovery of 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, a Starlink satellite internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertilizer, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
According to Operation HADIN KAI, preliminary assessments indicate that the seized items possess dual-use capabilities that could support terrorist logistics, communications, mobility and sustainment. The military disclosed that the recovered NPK fertilizer and suspected acid would undergo forensic and technical examination to determine whether they were intended for the production of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The six suspects, alongside the recovered items, have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation aimed at identifying the intended recipients, dismantling the wider logistics network and apprehending other collaborators and sponsors.
The military said intelligence gathered from rescued hostages and surrendered families of former terrorists suggests that sustained operations targeting terrorist supply chains have severely weakened the operational capacity of insurgent groups. According to the debriefings, persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment and other essential logistics have forced many terrorists to abandon their camps, families and captives while fleeing relentless military offensives.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations against terrorists, their financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators to deny them the resources and freedom of movement needed to sustain their activities.
The military also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons and movements, stressing that community support remains crucial to ongoing counter-terrorism efforts and the restoration of lasting peace and security across the North-East.
