President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Paris, France, for Nigeria after concluding his working vacation, with his aircraft expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, later today.
In a statement, Special Adviser to the Presidenton on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga said President Tinubu is scheduled to begin his post-vacation engagements in Lagos, where he will honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, widely recognised for his role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
On Independence Day, the President is expected to attend the premiere of a film commemorating Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is also scheduled to meet with political leaders and associates as part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending about a week in London before proceeding to Paris.
In Paris, he attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held engagements with prominent business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
He also met on Monday with the Chairman of First Holdings, Femi Otedola.
Last week, Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a Gateway Deep Seaport in Ogun Waterside and the establishment of a Blue Marine Economic Zone.
DP World, a global ports and logistics company, plans to invest $7 billion in the proposed seaport and economic zone.
The President is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his engagements in Lagos.
