The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed as fake a social media publication claiming that it had reaffirmed the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The commission said the poster and accompanying text circulating online did not originate from INEC, describing their use of its logo and the image of National Commissioner, Mohammed Haruna, as unauthorised.
In a statement, INEC clarified that it had issued no such reaffirmation concerning the leadership of the opposition party.
The commission urged members of the public to disregard the publication entirely and avoid sharing misleading information.
It advised Nigerians to rely solely on information released through its official and verified communication channels.
