In a somber announcement today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed deep sorrow upon receiving the news of the passing of His Eminence, Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou, Baba Adinni of Lagos, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Lagos Central Mosque.
In a statement, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Chief Ajuri Ngelale said President Tinubu extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Sheikh Abdul-Hafeez Aṣhamu Abou, the wider Muslim community in Lagos, and the Lagos State Government, acknowledging the profound impact of this great loss.
Celebrating the remarkable legacy of service, duty, and sacrifice left behind by the departed Baba, who reached the venerable age of 100, President Tinubu underscores his exceptional contributions to the Muslim Ummah, the development of Lagos State, and beyond.
“Baba dedicated his life to the service of the people, exemplifying the highest moral standards. His life serves as a beacon for all of us, leaving an indelible mark on our collective consciousness. His absence will be deeply felt. Let us find solace in Baba’s enduring legacy and commit ourselves to upholding the values he championed – honesty, dignity, and sacrifice,” remarked President Tinubu.
