The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has called on auctioneers across the country to prioritize probity, fairness, and accountability in the handling of assets and other professional engagements. The Chairman made this appeal during a courtesy visit by the executives of the National Association of Auctioneers (NAA) on Monday.
The delegation, led by the President of the NAA, Alhaji Musa Kurra Abubakar, visited the EFCC headquarters to strengthen the existing partnership between the Commission and the association. Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the Commission’s Secretary, Mohammad Hammajoda, emphasized the importance of operating at a moral high ground.
Hammajoda quoted Olukoyede, saying, “The probity, fairness, and accountability you are expected to bring to your job are the core values that drive our work in the Commission. I can, therefore, say that we are together in the war against corruption.”

Acknowledging the positive working relationship between the EFCC and the NAA, Olukoyede expressed the Commission’s commitment to further enhancing collaboration. He stated, “We are committed to the success of your Association. We can work together and continue to pursue the goal of making Nigeria better for all of us. Luckily enough, we have up to 18 members of your Association that we are working hand-in-hand with in the disposal of assets that have been forfeited to the government. And they are doing creditably well.”
In response, NAA’s President, Abubakar, highlighted the long-term partnership between the association and the EFCC. He congratulated the Chairman and Secretary on their new appointments and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit and show support. Abubakar stated, “We have been partners in progress for quite a long time, and we feel it is right for us to pay a courtesy call since there has been a change of baton in the Commission.”
As a gesture of goodwill, the National Association of Auctioneers presented a giant souvenir to Chairman Olukoyede, featuring his image and a congratulatory message. The visit and exchange underscored the collaborative efforts between the EFCC and auctioneers in ensuring the transparent and ethical disposal of government assets.
