The Acting Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, conducted a ceremony at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja to honor and decorate six members of his Management Team. During the event, he urged them to strengthen their commitment and dedication to the success of the Service.
The appointments of 3 Deputy Comptrollers-General and 3 Assistant Comptrollers-General were made in recognition of their demonstrated dedication and service excellence. Notably, this marked the first time CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR decorated members of the Service’s Management Team since his appointment on 19th June 2023 by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
Shortly after his own appointment, the President approved the promotion of Festus Okun, Musa Baba Abdullahi, Albashir Hamisu to the position of Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs), and Kamardeen Olumoh, Auwal Mohammed, and Adeogun Alajogun to the position of Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs).
While decorating the six high-ranking officers, the Ag. CGC emphasized the need for them to intensify their devotion and determination in advancing the Nigeria Customs Service. He emphasized that the newly promoted officers were aware of the high expectations placed on them, urging them to renew their commitment to enhancing the Nigeria Customs Service.
Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, Festus Okun, expressed gratitude on behalf of the newly appointed DCGs, acknowledging President Tinubu’s unwavering belief in their capabilities. He assured that they would fulfill their responsibilities with utmost professionalism.
