Agents from the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 23 individuals on August 20, 2023, in an undercover operation targeting cybercrime in Makurdi, Benue State.
Among those apprehended are: David Uvaa, Patrick Adakole, Cyprian Aloo, Michael Anaambe, Okti Clinton, Ibi Raphael, Anaambe George, Msaasha John, Oche Edache, Anaker Terpase, Tanko Japhet, and Ayalgo Lorfa. Additionally, individuals named Success Terzungwe, Suursuter Isaiah, Lawani Peter, Paul Adewa, Jacob Paul, Ibi Shedrack, Iorkosu Michael, Shiedu Leonard, Terseer Mnenge, Ikyorna Raphael, and Igba Ngutor were also taken into custody.
Numerous mobile phones and a Toyota Corolla car were confiscated from the suspects. These individuals have provided significant statements, and once the investigation concludes, they will face legal charges in court.
