Army delivers free medical outreach to Faskari community

The Nigerian Army has conducted a free medical outreach for residents of Faskari community in Katsina State, as part of its non-kinetic efforts supporting Operation Ruwan Karfe, the ongoing military campaign aimed at dismantling bandit networks in the area.

According to Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Nigerian Army Training Centre Major Godfrey Anebi Abakpa, speaking at the flag-off, Commander of the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATRAC), Major General Abubakar Garba Haruna, said the initiative underscores the Army’s understanding that national security extends beyond battlefield engagements.

“Security is not only about arms and ammunition, but also about the wellbeing and health of our citizens,” he said. “This outreach is an expression of our commitment to peace, stability, and the development of the communities we serve.”

Haruna added that a healthy population is essential for national growth and commended residents of Faskari for their cooperation with troops operating in the area. He urged the community to view the Army not only as a fighting force but as partners in nation-building.

The District Head of Faskari, Alhaji Aminu Tukur Usman, expressed gratitude to the Army for both the medical services and ongoing security efforts, praying for continued success in all military operations.

The outreach featured free medical consultations, distribution of mosquito nets, health education, drug distribution, and referrals for advanced care. The programme drew large turnout from Faskari and neighbouring communities, with many beneficiaries appreciating the Army’s support.
