In a coordinated effort, personnel from the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and TANTITA Security are actively engaged in combatting oil theft operations in Southern Nigeria. Their resolute actions against criminal elements disrupting Nigeria’s oil sector were escalated when, on September 7, 2023, the 34 Artillery Brigade troops uncovered and dismantled two illicit oil bunkering camps situated in the Egbema West area of Ohaji Egbema Local Government in Imo State.
Confirming these developments, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, disclosed that the troops effectively dismantled the operations of an illegal refining site.
