AVM Abubakar Adamu assumes leadership of military pensions board

Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Adamu has formally assumed office as the new Chairman of the Military Pensions Board (MPB), marking a pivotal transition in efforts to strengthen military pension administration in Nigeria.

In  a statement Public Relations Officer, Military Pensions Board Squadron Leader Ahmed Mohammed said the handover ceremony, held at the MPB headquarters in Abuja, signaled a renewed commitment to improving the welfare of retired service personnel through enhanced efficiency, transparency, and accountability in pension management.

AVM Adamu brings extensive experience to the role, having held numerous senior positions within the Nigerian Air Force and defence sector. These include appointments as Director of Finance at NAF Headquarters, Managing Director of Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited (NAFIL), and most recently, Group Managing Director of the NAFIL Group of Companies. He also served as a Directing Staff at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.

A Fellow of multiple professional bodies including ICAN, CITN, ICPAN, and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, AVM Adamu is widely regarded as a seasoned financial expert and administrator. His service has earned him numerous military honours, including the Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS), and the Pass Staff Course Dagger (psc).

In his remarks, AVM Adamu pledged to uphold the confidence placed in him by the Armed Forces and the Federal Government, and to lead the Board into a new era of service excellence for military retirees.
