CAS urges air commanders to intensify operations following recent successes

In the wake of recent victories in various operations nationwide, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has instructed Air Component Commanders to intensify their efforts in ongoing missions. During a virtual meeting on August 26, 2024, Air Marshal Abubakar commended the Commanders for their exceptional performance, highlighting their crucial role in bolstering national security.

According to Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, the CAS praised the Commanders for their dedication and tactical acumen, which have led to the elimination of key terrorist leaders, disruption of oil theft, and the safeguarding of national assets. “The Service, and indeed the entire nation, are proud of your achievements,” said the CAS. “Your relentless pursuit of excellence and commitment to duty have not gone unnoticed. However, we must continue to hit them hard until they succumb to our superior might.”

While acknowledging the progress made, Air Marshal Abubakar cautioned that challenges remain and urged the Commanders to sustain their momentum. He emphasized the importance of vigilance, intelligence-driven operations, and collaboration with other services to neutralize lingering threats. “We must not rest on our laurels. The security of our nation depends on our continued resolve and unwavering commitment,” he added.

The CAS reassured the Commanders of the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to their welfare and the provision of necessary resources and equipment to enhance operational capabilities. He expressed confidence in their ability to fulfill their mandate, stressing that the security and peace of the nation are of utmost importance.

Recent air strikes targeting terrorists in Zamfara, Katsina, and Kaduna, as well as oil thieves in Rivers and Imo States, have garnered praise from the CAS and other Nigerians. Despite these successes, the Service remains dedicated to allocating additional resources to restore peace across Nigeria, ensuring that citizens can live without fear for their lives or property.
