The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, delivered an inspiring message to the commanders and troops of the Nigerian Army (NA), urging them to maintain resolute dedication in addressing the ever-evolving security challenges across the nation.
According to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, General Musa shared this call after gaining valuable insights into the operational activities of troops across various theaters of operation throughout the country. This visit occurred at the Army Headquarters Operations Centre on Monday, November 6, 2023.
In his extensive remarks following a comprehensive operations briefing, Gen. Musa commended Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, Principal Staff Officers, Field Commanders, and the troops for their unwavering commitment and selfless sacrifice. He underscored the crucial role of military service in serving humanity and the statutory obligation to support civil authorities.

The CDS advised commanders at all levels to maintain focus, commitment, and professionalism in overseeing their respective commands while expediting the restoration of peace and stability in the nation. He stressed the importance of exemplary leadership and mentorship to guide the junior leaders of the Nigerian Army.
Gen. Musa further urged NA troops to remain unwavering, emphasizing the significance of jointness and inter-agency cooperation in their operations to address security challenges. He reassured the troops of the unflinching support of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He expressed gratitude for the President’s interventions in the Armed Forces of Nigeria since taking office. “We have a significant responsibility ahead, and it is imperative that we do not waver in our commitment to our country. With the President’s support and the nation standing with us, we must prevail,” the Defense Chief reiterated. He also encouraged the troops to support the lead agency in the upcoming elections and strictly adhere to the codes of conduct governing troops’ roles during the polls.
