The Nigerian Army Intelligence School (NAIS) on Friday, April 12, 2024 marked the conclusion of its first quarter courses for the year with a distinguished graduation ceremony held at Bala Mande Hall, situated within Tego Barracks, Apapa, Lagos. The event celebrated the successful completion of a range of courses, notably including the Operational Intelligence Commanders Course, Intelligence Analysis Officers Course, Security Investigation Officers Course, Security Investigation Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Advance Intelligence Operative Course, and Intermediate Intelligence Operative Course.
Addressing the graduating cohort, Major General Gbemiga Adesina, the esteemed Commander of the Nigerian Army Signals, urged the graduates to effectively apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their courses to enhance Nigerian Army operational capabilities in any deployment scenario. Major General Adesina emphasized the critical importance of leveraging their training to address the contemporary security challenges confronting the nation. He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to evolving into a proficient, well-equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties within a joint operational environment, in accordance with the directives of the Chief of Army Staff.
In recognition of the remarkable strides made by NAIS, General Adesina extended commendations to Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, the Commandant of NAIS, and the entire faculty for the substantial enhancements witnessed in both infrastructure and academic standards. He expressed confidence that NAIS’s augmented training capabilities would significantly bolster its support to Nigerian Army operations across the board.
In his remarks, Brigadier General Kingsley Nwoko, the distinguished School Commandant, expressed gratitude to Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, for his steadfast support and commitment to the transformation and revitalization of NAIS. Brigadier General Nwoko reaffirmed NAIS’s unwavering dedication to its mandate of producing competent and well-prepared officers and soldiers capable of operating effectively in a joint operational setting.
Brigadier General Nwoko further underscored NAIS’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience by introducing additional compulsory courses such as driving and computer education for all students. He emphasized the school’s focus on advancing technical proficiencies, including artificial intelligence, surveillance, tracking, investigation, and forensic training, equipping graduates with the requisite capabilities to tackle contemporary challenges adeptly.
The ceremony concluded with the ceremonial presentation of certificates to the graduands and a group photograph. Notable dignitaries in attendance included Brigadier General AS Makaino, Command Finance Office; Colonel AA Lawal, Command DIA Annex Lagos; Lieutenant Colonel ET Ogunlade, Command 81 MIB; Mr. Charles Okaga, Port Manager NPA Lagos Complex; Assistant Commandant of the EFCC 1, Michael T. Wetkas; alongside representatives from DSS and FCID, among others.
