ECOWAS Court hosts technical workshop on planning and evaluation

The ECOWAS Court of Justice organized a three-day technical workshop focusing on Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME). The event, held from July 29th to 31st, 2024, aimed to enhance the Court’s culture of planning, programming, and result-based management.

During the workshop, Focal Points presented their mandates, objectives, and processes, identifying areas for collaboration and proposing initiatives to strengthen the Court’s management framework. Dr. Olalekan Afolabi, Head of the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division, welcomed participants on behalf of the Court’s President, Justice Edward Amoako Asante. He emphasized the workshop’s goals, including developing a performance measurement framework and agreeing on data collection methodologies for the Court’s indicators.

The Chief Registrar, Dr. Yaouza Ouro-Sama, represented by Mr. Yusuf Danmadami, highlighted the workshop’s role in refining the Court’s performance measurement framework and promoting knowledge sharing and skills development. He underscored the importance of strategic planning, effective monitoring, and objective evaluation in achieving institutional success.

The workshop was attended by Focal Points from various divisions and units of the Court, facilitated by the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division. The event underscored the Court’s commitment to aligning its practices with international standards in program management and organizational effectiveness.
