Edo Govt requests Okpebholo, APC to form transition team

The Edo State Government has formally requested Senator Monday Okpebholo to initiate the formation of his transition team in preparation for a smooth handover from the outgoing administration. This request was made in a letter dated October 10, 2024, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Joseph Eboigbe.

The letter emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the current administration and the incoming team to ensure a seamless transfer of power and continuity in governance. Eboigbe highlighted that the transition team will enable both parties to engage in meaningful discussions and exchange vital information for a smooth handover process.

Governor Godwin Obaseki had previously inaugurated a 20-member transition committee in July 2024, chaired by Eboigbe, to oversee the transfer of power. The letter also proposed October 14, 2024, for an inaugural meeting between both transition teams, expressing the state’s commitment to providing necessary resources for a successful transition.

The government looks forward to a prompt response from Okpebholo and the All Progressives Congress (APC), as both sides prepare to work together for the benefit of Edo State citizens.
