EFCC apprehends 16 alleged internet fraudsters in Kaduna

In a recent development, the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has successfully apprehended sixteen individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. The arrest took place at the fifth Chucker Polo Club in Marabban Jos, Kaduna, Kaduna State.

The operation, executed on Thursday, December 27, 2023, was a result of meticulous intelligence gathering that indicated the involvement of the suspects in various internet-related offenses.

The apprehended individuals consist of thirteen males and three females, namely Bello Abiodun, Abraham Adama, Shedrack Bisola, Friday Markus, Ransom Joash Destiny, Joshua Winner, Samuel Shehu, John Daniel, and Christian Righteous. Additionally, Godwin Dikko, Ogochukwu Ijeh, Bilbert Sabo, Akosa Joshua, Precious Yohanna, Joy Righteous, and Samuel Ruth were also among those taken into custody.

During the operation, law enforcement recovered mobile phones and laptops from the suspects, further underscoring the technological nature of their alleged illicit activities.

The EFCC has affirmed that the investigative process is underway, and the detained individuals will be charged before a court of law promptly upon the conclusion of the inquiry. The Commission remains steadfast in its commitment to combatting cybercrime and ensuring that perpetrators face legal consequences for their actions.
