The Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained five individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.
According to EFCC operatives, the arrests took place on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Kansho Village in the Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State. The apprehension followed actionable intelligence regarding their alleged involvement in internet-related offenses.
The suspects have been identified as Shima Francis, Ode Jesse, Odey Linus, Kingsley Obinna, and Emmanuel Inaleguwu.
During the operation, law enforcement officials recovered one iPhone and five android phones from the suspects.
Once investigations are concluded, the suspects will be brought before the court to face charges in accordance with the law.
