Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, have arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe, founder of Faith Healing Ministry, Warri, Delta State, for alleged conspiracy, naira mutilation and suspected money laundering.
The arrest, carried out on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, followed the circulation of a viral video showing several individuals spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church programme reportedly held under her supervision.
The EFCC stated that the conduct violates Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which prohibits the abuse and mutilation of the national currency. The Commission added that it is pursuing other suspects involved in the incident.
According to officials, Archbishop Oyeghe has made useful statements and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
