The Kano Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over allegations of naira mutilation.
The arrest was carried out on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which the actress was seen using naira notes to wipe mucus from her nose, an act prohibited under Nigerian law.
EFCC sources disclosed that the Commission commenced investigations immediately after the video gained public attention, leading to the tracing and subsequent arrest of the suspect for questioning.
Inuwa is currently in custody at the EFCC’s detention facility in Kano, where investigations are ongoing.
The Commission stated that she will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
