The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three individuals for allegedly impersonating Evangelist Chukwuebuka Obi of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach on social media. The suspects, identified as Odion Victor, Amos Godwin, and Ayomide Michael, were apprehended by operatives from the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate.
The arrests followed credible intelligence revealing the suspects had cloned Evangelist Obi’s social media accounts. They allegedly used these fake accounts to deceive church members into donating money for various fraudulent causes, including medical treatments, spiritual breakthroughs, and special prayers. The funds were directed into the suspects’ bank accounts.
The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
