Operatives of the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended Vincent Markus, a suspected serial internet fraudster and student at the University of Maiduguri.
Markus was arrested in Badirisa, Damare Ward, Girei Local Government, Adamawa State, following credible intelligence that revealed his involvement in hacking and other internet-related crimes. He allegedly used pseudonyms on social media platforms like WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook to conduct his illicit activities.

Items recovered from Markus include a three-bedroom flat, a Peugeot 206, a 2009 Toyota Corolla Verso, two Toyota Starlets (2012 and 2013 models), air-conditioners, an iPhone 14 Pro Max, an Infinix Note 30, a freezer, and a Hisense TV, among others.
The suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
