Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, have arrested 37 suspected internet fraudsters in coordinated operations in Warri, Delta State, and Owerri, Imo State.
The arrests, carried out on Friday, September 19, 2025, followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to internet and cryptocurrency fraud. According to the EFCC, the individuals were apprehended while operating various internet-enabled devices allegedly used to defraud unsuspecting victims.
Among the targets was suspected ringleader, Robert Ebuka Chukwuedo, who fled his residence on Commissioner Street, Warri, in an attempt to evade arrest. However, some of his alleged accomplices were arrested within the premises of his mansion.

The suspects are believed to be involved in cryptocurrency scams, money laundering, and other internet-related crimes. Items recovered from them include exotic cars, laptops, smartphones, and fetish materials.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
