The announcement was made by the EFCC Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, during the Annual Rewards and Recognition Ceremony held at the Academy on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Addressing staff, Olukoyede emphasized the heroism of the late officer, stating, “Salisu paid the supreme price in service to the nation, and his sacrifice will not be forgotten. To this end, the administrative block of the Academy will now bear his name.”
The ceremony also recognized excellence within the Commission, with 36 officers rewarded across various categories, including highest recovery section, highest conviction section, lawyer with the highest convictions, best departmental staff, best zonal directorate, and staff of the year.
Congratulating the award recipients, Olukoyede remarked, “I commend all winners for their outstanding contributions. However, I urge everyone to remain steadfast. Excellence is not a one-time act but a consistent commitment to doing things right. The reward for hard work is more work.”
The EFCC Chairman also highlighted other staff welfare initiatives, announcing the promotion of 900 personnel and the reinstatement of life and property insurance schemes for employees. He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to its values, cautioning staff against any form of misconduct. “The internal cleansing within the EFCC will spare no one who compromises our core values,” he warned.
Among the award recipients, Chief Superintendent of the EFCC (CSE) Alvan Gurumnaan was named Staff of the Year, while the Sokoto Zonal Directorate emerged as the Best Directorate of the Year. Other notable honorees included Bitrus Yakubu, Francis Oniwon, Katmi Kefas, Halilu Dauda, Nenman Danladi, Oluwakemi Aaron, Yusuf Umar, Michael Adukwu Uchechika, and David Solomon, among others.
The ceremony served not only as a platform for recognition but also as a reminder of the Commission’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and service to the nation.
