Fire service assures FCT residents of readiness for Eid

The Federal Fire Service has assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of prompt emergency response during the forthcoming Eid al-Fitr celebrations, stating that all operational units have been placed on high alert.

The FCT Controller of the Service, MS Anas, gave the assurance during a post-festive briefing with station commanders, where he directed officers to remain fully deployed and prepared to respond swiftly to fire outbreaks and related emergencies throughout the celebration period.

He said station commanders have been instructed to ensure that all personnel remain on duty, while fire trucks and other operational equipment are kept in optimal condition to guarantee effective response across the territory.

Anas emphasised that the fire service is an essential agency and does not suspend operations during public holidays or festive periods.

He also urged residents to adopt basic fire safety measures, noting that festive periods often see increased activities that could lead to fire incidents. He advised households to switch off electrical appliances when leaving home, avoid unattended cooking, and refrain from the use of fireworks and other hazardous materials capable of igniting fires.

The controller further encouraged residents to keep emergency contact numbers readily available to enable prompt reporting of incidents.

He congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and wished them a peaceful and safe Eid celebration.

Residents were advised to contact the Federal Fire Service on 08032003557 in the event of any emergency.
