Four rescued from Kubwa building collapse

The search and rescue operation at the site of a collapsed two-story building in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has concluded. Four individuals trapped under the rubble were successfully rescued.

The operation, which began early this morning, ended around 4 PM after emergency workers meticulously cleared the debris to ensure no one was left underneath. Of the four rescued, three were treated for minor injuries and subsequently discharged from the hospital, while one remains under medical care for more serious injuries.

The rescue effort was a collaborative endeavor involving the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), FCT Emergency Management Department, Fire Service, the Nigerian Police, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), among others.

The collapsed structure was part of a two-story building located beside Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dansuki Road, Phase 2, Site 2, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council. The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 AM Saturday.
