FRSC sanctions Ondo sector commander over safety violation

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has sanctioned the Ondo State Sector Commander after a viral video showed an FRSC patrol vehicle operating with a worn-out tyre.

In a statement released by Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, condemned the incident, calling it a serious breach of the Corps’ core values and vehicle maintenance standards. He ordered immediate sanctions on the Sector Commander for negligence and instructed that the vehicle be booked for the violation, with the Sector Commander required to pay the fine.

Mohammed emphasized the FRSC’s zero tolerance for safety standard violations, reaffirming the Corps’ commitment to maintaining high operational standards. He urged all Commanding Officers to uphold the Corps’ values and maintain strict oversight of their field operations.
