Major General AE Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), has urged the troops under the 3 Division’s command to attain a high level of proficiency in utilizing their weaponry against those who threaten the nation’s security. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding both the well-being of fellow comrades and the proper use of weapons.
This call was made on August 25, 2023, as Major General Abubakar addressed the conclusion of the Bi-annual Range classification exercise. The exercise was designed to enhance the troops’ competence in weapon handling, a vital aspect of their training.
Considering the complex security challenges facing the nation, the GOC/Commander OPSH stressed the necessity for the troops to master the strategic application of their weapons. He underscored that regular training and dedicated practice would elevate the troops’ professional aptitude, equipping them to effectively counter the prevailing security threats.
Expanding on his point, the GOC/Commander OPSH affirmed his commitment to maximizing every available opportunity to enhance the troops’ weapon proficiency. “Proficiency comes from unwavering training,” he remarked.
