The House of Representatives hereby informs the public and stakeholders of an adjustment to the ongoing recess schedule. Originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the resumption date has been shifted to Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
In a formal statement issued by House Spokesman and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr., it is emphasized that this modification is imperative to facilitate the finalization of renovations to the Main Chamber of the House of Representatives.
He said this action aims to ensure the chamber’s optimal preparedness for forthcoming plenary sessions.
Rep. Akin Rotimi Jr added that during this recess period, Honourable Members remain actively engaged in meaningful constituency activities, while House Committees continue to convene meetings and fulfill oversight responsibilities.
He further noted that this update was communicated to Honourable Members through internal correspondence by the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, Esq., on Thursday.
It is underscored that this information dissemination aligns with the Legislative Agenda, which underscores the House’s commitment to transparency and accountability. All members of the public and stakeholders are respectfully urged to acknowledge and adjust to this rescheduling.
